Hartley also is the founder of the first accredited geriatric physical therapy residency in the U.S., which is housed locally at St. Catherine’s Rehabilitation Hospital and is affiliated with the Miller School’s Department of Physical Therapy. He previously served the Academy of Geriatric Physical Therapy as director and secretary on its Board of Directors, and as chair of its Practice Committee where he oversaw creation of a variety of evidence-based documents and clinical practice guidelines.
