Dr. M. Usman Shahid Joins the Department of Interventional Radiology
M. Usman Shahid, M.D., joins the Department of Interventional Radiology at UHealth – University of Miami Health System and the Miller School of Medicine as an assistant professor of clinical interventional radiology. His achievements include conducting one of the first live animal studies within the Rutgers University Department of Radiology, studying the influence of exercise on inferior vena cava wall interactions, and being awarded the resident research award.
Dr. Shahid has authored and co-authored several peer-reviewed journal articles and a book chapter on venous thromboembolic disease and has been a live case operator presenting at the New York Endovascular Summit. His research interests include inferior vena cava filters, effects of locoregional therapies on HCC, and minimally invasive therapies in the treatment of portal hypertension. He is an active member in the Society of Interventional Radiology.
