First Deadline in UM Business Plan Competition Extended to October 30

Attention Miller School of Medicine entrepreneurs: The University of Miami School of Business Administration is now accepting entries to the 2018 University of Miami Business Plan Competition, which will take place in April, 2018.

The competition is open to all University of Miami students in good academic and financial standing during the current academic year. The competition is also open to all UM alumni who have graduated no longer ago than 2006. Several Miller School-affiliated entries have been winners in recent years.

STEP 1
Each individual or team is required to submit a three- to five-page concept paper. The deadline to submit the concept paper has been extended to October 30 (by 4 p.m. EST). More information on how to submit is available here.

STEP 2
Of those submissions, 40 percent will move on to the next round of the competition, the ‘Canes Idea Challenge. Students moving on to the ‘Canes Idea Challenge will be required to pitch their concept on November 15 in front of a group of judges and a live audience. A total of $6,000 in cash prizes will be awarded.

STEP 3
Of the teams/individuals that make it to the ‘Canes Idea Challenge stage, 50 percent will be invited to submit a complete business plan by March 13, 2018 and compete in the Business Plan Competition. A total of $50,000 in cash and in-kind prizes will be awarded.
