Medical Campus Mentoring Information Session Set for January 8

January is National Mentoring Month, and employees on the medical campus are invited to attend a special session hosted by Big Brothers Big Sisters to learn about the School-To-Work Program with the University of Miami. The session will be held on Monday, January 8, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., in the Rosensteil Medical Science Building, 8th floor, room 8145.

Since 2013 UM and Big Brothers Big Sisters have partnered to match local high school students with mentors. By investing only four hours per month during the workweek, UM mentors make a positive and lasting impact on the life of a local child. In fact, 99.66% of students participating in a Big Brothers Big Sisters program are promoted to the next grade level.

During the session, local Big Brothers Big Sisters representatives and UM mentors will talk about the program, and light refreshments will be served. To RSVP, email Aniette Lauredo at [email protected].
