Physical Therapy Faculty Members Receive National Recognition
Two faculty members in the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine physical therapy department were honored for their leadership, success, and enduring dedication to the field.
Robert Gailey, P.T., Ph.D., professor of physical therapy at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, was recently named a Catherine Worthingham Fellow of the American Physical Therapy Association (FAPTA). The Catherine Worthingham Fellow designation honors individuals whose contributions to the profession through leadership, influence, and achievements demonstrate frequent and sustained efforts to advance the physical therapy profession.
Gregory Hartley, P.T., D.P.T., board-certified geriatric clinical specialist and assistant professor of clinical physical therapy, was recently named a Fellow of the National Academies of Practice (NAP). The NAP is a prominent health care advisory group focused on interdisciplinary collaboration. Dr. Hartley was also elected president of the Academy of Geriatric Physical Therapy earlier this year.
