“Lindsey recently joined us to lead our Clinical Research Services division, which includes approximately 200 staff members that support clinical research for Sylvester,” said Dorothy Graves, Ph.D., assistant vice president and associate director for administration at Sylvester.

Mooney has experience helping to lead cancer clinical research departments at two NCI-designated cancer centers, Moffit Cancer Center in Tampa and the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, a consortium partner of the Case Comprehensive Cancer Center.

“Lindsey has worked extensively with colleagues at these institutions to drastically reduce the time to study activation and to increase trial enrollment by streamlining processes and defining key metrics to track and report performance indicators,” Dr. Graves said.

Mooney has already started to harness this experience to advance research at Sylvester.

“Cancer research is changing very rapidly. There have been so many incredible developments during recent years that the science itself can quickly become outdated, making it more important than ever to get clinical trials activated and enrolling patients as quickly as possible,” Mooney said. “This is extremely vital to our success as an NCI-designated cancer center. I am already working on key metrics and look forward to implementing a truly efficient process to get our patients the treatments they need as quickly as possible.”
