Judy Webb-Hapgood, M.B.A., R.N., chief supply chain officer for UHealth – University of Miami Health System, recently represented UM in Munich, Germany, participating in the Siemens Healthineers Executive Summit.

This annual event, which displays the latest advancements in hospital technology, attracted 160 health care executives from 44 countries to engage in innovative discussions on health equity, patient-centered care and partnership growth.

Key sessions included previews of a computed tomography (CT) roadmap focused on photon-counting technology, updates on the magnetic resonance (MR) roadmap and an introduction to the BioGraph mMR, a new scanner designed for advanced PET/MR imaging.

“This is why I love being at UHealth,” Webb-Hapgood said. “It’s not just a supply chain or clinical effort but a collaborative mission to excel today while transforming tomorrow. At events like this, we also get to connect with other health care leaders and key stakeholders, which is invaluable as we work on the innovations currently underway at UHealth.”

Following the two-day conference, Webb-Hapgood traveled to Nuremberg to visit the Siemens Healthineers plant, where she was met by eight additional UHealth radiology and supply chain professionals. Joining her from Supply Chain Services was Mike Woodman, associate vice president. The Department of Radiology was represented by Orlando Duran, associate vice president for imaging services and interventional radiology services, Enrique Serrano, executive director for radiology operations, and clinicians and researchers Thiago Braga, M.D., Mike Georgiou, Ph.D., Richard Gorniak, M.D., Pradip Pattany, Ph.D., and Yoel Siegel, M.D.

During the visit, they learned about the NAEOTOM Alpha, the world’s first photon-counting CT scanner, and reviewed the SOMATOM portable CT scanner. Participants also received updates on Syngo’s latest 3D imaging capabilities, with features offering in carbon, AI and MR innovations.
