Wednesday is Introduction to Innovation Day

U Innovation and the Miami Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI) will host i2i: Introduction to Innovation Day on Wednesday, November 8, at the Gordon Center Auditorium in the Don Soffer Clinical Research Center. Introduction to Innovation Day will include lectures and interactive panel discussions on the process of innovation and commercialization in translational research, featuring leading translational research scientists, legal experts and experts in industry-academic collaborations and technology transfer.

Guest speakers at the morning session, held from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., will be Salvatore Albani, M.D., Ph.D., co-founder and president of the Eureka Institute for Translational Medicine, Juan Carlos Lopez, Ph.D., founder of Haystack Science, and Alison Tanner, senior licensing associate at UM’s Office of Technology Transfer.

The day will conclude at 5 p.m. with a networking reception and Concept to Commercialization seminar featuring Leigh-Ann Buchanan, Esq., executive director of Venture Café Miami. Faculty, students, researchers and members of the community are encouraged to come and connect with others who share a passion to grow a culture of innovation at UM.
