Dr. Amruta Parekh Honored for Excellence in Workers’ Compensation Care
Amruta Dipen Parekh, M.D., assistant professor of orthopaedics and medical director of the University of Miami Health System workers’ compensation clinic, was recently recognized at the annual “In Touch Excellence Awards Gala” for providing excellent care and service to patients in the workers’ compensation system.

Known as the “Academy Awards” for workers’ compensation claims professionals, the November 9th event recognized people who have the greatest impact on the outcome of a worker’s compensation claim. The award is based on “values of excellence” including professionalism, ethical conduct, quality of medical care provided for claimants, advocacy efforts for proper care, and respect and professional courtesy.
“It was an honor to be recognized at the In Touch Awards Gala,” Parekh said. “All the core values that define the excellence awards are very close to my heart, and it is this passion that motivates me to work hard every day.
“I feel humbled to be chosen in the presence of several deserving nominees across the State of Florida,” she added. “I owe this award to my excellent team at UHealth who strive to make it easier for not only the patient but also the claims adjusters, case managers and employers.”

Several large local employers have designated UHealth as a preferred provider for their employees with workers’ compensation claims — including Miami-Dade County, the City of Miami, and Miami-Dade County Public Schools.
