Dr. Daniel Gologorsky Receives Resident Excellence Award

Daniel Gologorsky, M.D., M.B.A., a third-year resident at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, has received the 2017 American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS) Foundation Resident Excellence Award. He received the award for exemplary performance in research, patient care, leadership and education.

A graduate of Cornell University, Gologorsky received his medical degree from Dartmouth Medical School and his Master of Business Administration from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth, where he focused on operations management and health care delivery.

Throughout his residency at Bascom Palmer, Gologorsky has been a prolific writer, authoring nearly 30 manuscripts and nine book chapters as a senior resident. He has also presented at 15 national and international conferences. He is an active member of the Florida Ophthalmology Society, and he has lobbied Congress on behalf of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.

Following completion of his residency, Gologorsky will begin a fellowship in vitreoretinal diseases at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary. His career interests include retinal vascular diseases, clinical trials, imaging modalities and medical device development.

The ASCRS Foundation works to support physician education and to provide humanitarian eye care in the United States and overseas.
