Iron Arrow Taps Two Students from Miller School
With the telltale beating of a single drum and a tap on the shoulder with an iron arrow, members of the Iron Arrow Honor Society this week renewed one of the U’s greatest spring traditions. Marching across the Coral Gables and medical campuses in a solemn procession, they bestowed a leading University of Miami honor on 22 lucky recipients — membership in the organization that recognizes students, faculty, staff, and alumni who exemplify love of alma mater, character, leadership, scholarship, and humility.

Two of the inductees were students from the Miller School of Medicine:
Alejandro Arboleda, M.S., member of the M.D. class of 2019, research associate at the Ophthalmic Business Center, co-president of the Ophthalmology Interest Club, member of the Fundraising Committee for Nicaragua medical missions, translator coordinator for the Mitchell Wolfson Sr. Department of Community Service (DOCS), and trainer for academic societies.
Stephanie Ioannou, member of the M.D. class of 2018, executive director of the Mitchell Wolfson Sr. Department of Community Service (DOCS), member of the Miller School Admissions Committee, trainer for academic societies, trip overseer for Nicaragua medical missions, co-president of the American Medical Women’s Association, co-president of Advancing Sexual Knowledge, and show coordinator for the Cabaret Charity Show.
