The Miami Dolphins announced that Dolphins Cancer Challenge XV (DCC XV) registration is now open.

Scheduled to take place on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at Hard Rock Stadium’s Miami International Autodrome, DCC XV is the Miami Dolphins’ signature fundraising event that supports innovative cancer research at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, a part of UHealth and the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and the region’s only National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center.

Since 2010, the DCC has brought together cancer survivors, their loved ones and the community under a “one team, one fight” mentality to tackle cancer. One hundred percent of the DCC’s participant-raised funds support Sylvester’s efforts to advance cancer care through breakthrough science, leading-edge technology and personalized patient care.

“For 15 years, the DCC has united Miami Dolphins fans and the South Florida community in fighting cancer,” said Dolphins Cancer Challenge Executive Director Javier Sanchez. “As we mark this major milestone, we are excited to bring together our incredible community of cancer fighters and honor the legacy of this movement, which has grown to become the No. 1 fundraising event in the NFL.”

$75 Million for Cancer Research

Last year, DCC XIV set a record with 6,702 participants and raised more than $12 million for Sylvester, fulfilling the program’s overall $75 million commitment two years ahead of schedule.

“We are incredibly grateful for the amazing partnership we have forged with the Miami Dolphins,” said Sylvester Director Stephen D. Nimer, M.D., the Oscar de la Renta Endowed Chair in Cancer Research and executive dean for research at the Miller School. “The extraordinary vision of the Dolphins organization to come alongside Sylvester and raise millions of dollars annually for impactful cancer research has allowed us to discover and provide innovative, life-saving treatments for so many in our community. We all look forward to continuing the mission at DCC XV.”

With ride, run and walk options, everyone in the South Florida community and beyond can participate to support Sylvester.

DCC XV will bring back the four bicycle ride options introduced last year, with ride lengths honoring Miami Dolphins Hall of Famers:

• The 13-mile Dan Marino ride

• The 39-mile Larry Csonka ride

• The 54-mile Zach Thomas ride

• The 99-mile Jason Taylor ride.

There is also a 5K walk/run.

DCC has raised more than $75 million to support cancer research at Sylvester.

“I love that this event challenges people to get out of their comfort zone and do powerful things to impact cancer care in our community,” said Sanchez, who has completed DCC’s century ride in the past. “Funds raised through the DCC support Sylvester physician-scientists who are making innovative discoveries and establishing life-saving treatments.”
